THR reports that Marvel and Disney have brought on blacklist screenwriter Christopher McCoy to do rewrites on the existing script for Guardians of The Galaxy. The cosmic epic is expected to begin production sometime next year with an August 1st 2014 release date. I have assume that casting and the search for a director will begin shortly. Nicole Perlman, who developed the original draft and also wrote a new treatment for a Black Widow film.
