Breck Eisner Directing Blood of The Innocent?

FearNet talked with comic creator Mark Wheatley from Insight Studios who reveals Breck Eisner (Crazies) is going to direct an adaption of the comic Blood of The Innocent. The comic pitts Dracula against Jack The Ripper set in Victorian era London. Having such two horror heavy weights in one film is interesting enough to peek my excitement. The last decent Jack The Ripper film was also a comic adaption based on Alan Moore's (Watchmen) graphic novel From Hell.

Breck Eisner is currently prepping the Escape From New York remake and Wheatley believes Blood will be his next film after Escape. He's also attached to direct the Flash Gordon reboot which has been in development for a while now. While I wasn't impressed by The Crazies it did end up looking decent for it's budget restraints so I'll be interested to see what Breck can do with these projects.

"Flash Gordon is scheduled for 2012 now, I think. Escape from New York is the one he's actively working on right now. He's trying to make Blood of the Innocent the picture he does after Escape."
