Matthew Vaughn's Next Film Is Turf?

It looks like some might have jumped the gun with Matthew Vaughn's plans to adapt Bloodshot as his next film. It seems that the Guardian is reporting Johnathan Ross' comic Turf is being developed by Vaughn into a live-action film. Ross's wife Jane Goldman wrote the screenplay and produced Kick-Ass. He is even being credited for introducing Vaughn to Mark Millar. I can't believe I've never heard of Turf because it has some serious franchise potential. It's set during the Prohibition-era New York. It tell's the story of a gang war between booze-smuggling mobsters and vampires – the bloodthirsty Dragonmir family from eastern Europe – with an alien thrown in for good measure. Considering Vaughn's relationship with both Ross and Goldman I expect this will be his very next project. Plus the comic is indie enough for him to take it independently like he did with Kick-Ass.

"There will be five further issues, a hardback collection and – if all goes to plan – a Turf movie made by Matthew Vaughn, the producer of Ross's wife's current hit comic-book film Kick-Ass."
