Fox Hires Writer For Daredevil Reboot

We've been hearing how scared 20th Century Fox is of loosing their property rights on their Marvel characters because of the massive merger of Disney and Marvel. Marvel now having access to Disney's legion of corporate lawyers now in their disposal could start looking into getting back their characters' film rights. So the only thing studios can do to block this from happening is turning out new films or reboots to keep the property active at the respected studios.

Last year Fox announced plans to reboot both Daredevil and The Fantastic Four. I'd rather they finally give Silver Surfer his big screen origin story with the real Galactius. Now Deadline Hollywood reports screenwriter David Scarpa will tackle the reboot. While it seems that Fox is giving the hero another shot, they are rushing the project only out of spite. The hiring of Scarpa doesn't sit well with me as his previous scripts for The Last Castle and The Day The Earth Stood Still (2008) were average at best. Considering the writing talent they've hired for Wolverine 2 and Deadpool it seems like the lack of effort is already being shown.
