NEWS/RUMORS (Jan 12th)

It looks like Marvel Studios is starting test screenings/auditions for Captain America. This of course isn't confirmed but budding actor Rick Malambri used his Twitter account to express his excitement for his involvement in the auditions. If production starts in June it does make sense they would begin casting for major roles.

Robert Downey Jr. won't be starring in Cowboys & Aliens. With production staring in July they'll have to find a replacement soon. RDJ said his departure is from scheduling conflicts. Sherlock Holmes 2 is being fast tracked into production which could mean the film will start shooting this summer.

The Hughes brothers have been talking about possible projects they could have worked on. Yet another one was an adaption of Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns with Clint Eastwood possibly playing an older Batman.

Director Pierre Morrel (Taken) has recently spoken about his intentions for his new film. Morrel said the film would be based on the novel rather than being influenced by the original David Lynch film. I think this is the best concept because Lynch's film my have become a cult favorite it was massive bomb when it first was released. It was originally pegged as Rodger Ebert's worst film of 1984.

Nathan Fillion (Slither, Serenity) and Linda Cardellini (Freaks & Geeks, Scooby Doo) have joined James Gunn's Super.

Transformers 3 will start production in May. Sounds like they're not waiting for a competent script yet again. So it more than likely will be another large headache of a summer film.
