Kristen Stewart (Adventureland, Panic Room) is set to star as Joan Jett in a film based on the early career of Jett. The movie will focus on Jett's involvement in the all girl rock group The Runaways. In the movie it will follow the band's rise to fame and their ultimate demise. Music video director Floria Sigismondi has wrote the script and will direct the film. Sigimondi should be remembered as the director of many visually stunning music videos from the 90's. Creating music videos for acts such as Sigur Ros, Marylin Manson, White Stripes and Tricky.
